Integrating into a live product team required a bifurcated approach: addressing day-to-day exigencies while architecting a strategic roadmap for product evolution.

UX/UI Optimization

Leveraging my development expertise, I identified opportunities for UX/UI optimization. This included standardizing label formats for cohesive data presentation and implementing code-level solutions.

Localization & Value Proposition

Recognizing the need for a holistic localization strategy encompassing both text translation and data format harmonization, I successfully championed its value proposition, particularly during the MVP-to-full-product transition.

Tech-Savvy & User-Centric

I embrace the transformative potential of AI advancements. Cost-effective APIs can streamline tasks like translation maps, while freemium AI tools offer resource-efficient alternatives. At Tennders, I contributed to a robust and iterative UX research process, particularly crucial for a platform with over five distinct user personas.

  • Competitive Analysis: The team actively benchmarked usability, findability, and other UX concepts against competitors. This included analysing similarities and differences in their user personas.

  • Live Ops Integration: Requirements were gathered directly through the Live Ops teams who used the platform daily.

  • Iterative Testing: Under my direction and mentoring, we employed techniques like card sorting, tree testing, and ongoing user testing (both internal and external) to continuously refine the user experience.

This data-driven approach ensured we avoided assumptions and catered to the diverse needs of the user base.

When I joined back in 2022, the company was integrating UX/UI design principles after initial development without dedicated designers. This presented a unique challenge – creating a design system that meshed with an existing codebase.

The conformed UX/UI Team tackled two key initiatives simultaneously:

  1. Refining the live product's UX/UI: We implemented user-centred design principles to improve user experience and address usability issues.

  2. Establishing a modular design system: Using Atomic Design principles, we built a scalable and flexible design system to guide future development and gradually started replacing the old blocks.

During this time, the company hired an external UX/UI agency for a satellite module, this introduced a second design system. The team is currently working on effectively combining these systems to streamline workflows and ensure design consistency across the entire platform.

  • Collaborative Requirements Gathering: Live Ops, Financial, and QA teams participated in workshops and interviews to gather detailed requirements. Project managers then prioritised these based on stakeholder feedback.

  • Iterative User Testing: Our user testing approach included:

    • Internal validation runs to refine the platform before external user-testing.

    • External user testing sessions following standard UX practices.

      • Definition of testing scripts with the Product Team.

      • Mapping sessions with appointed external users (via our Stakeholders' contact database).

    • Card sorting and tree testing to optimise the information architecture for various user roles and permissions.

    • Identifying and addressing user pain points through iterative testing cycles.

  • Utilised the brand's font while implementing strategies to enhance data presentation. This involved advocating for slashed zeros to differentiate them from capital "O"s, particularly relevant for compact information displays.

Focus on User Efficiency
